Focaccia Bread

Ingredients

  • Flour – 2 cups
  • Rosemary (and/or other Italian dry spices) – 1 tsp
  • Yeast – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Sugar – 1/2 tsp
  • Warm water – 1 cup
  • Olive oil

Steps

  1. Mix dry ingredients – flour, salt, rosemary and/or Italian dry spices in a large bowl.
  2. Mix yeast and sugar into cup of warm water.
  3. Slowly pour warm water mixture into dry ingredients, mix with spatula until combined.
  4. Add splash of olive oil and use spatula to mix in.
  5. Pull and fold dough (see Step 3 Pull and Fold in Rustic Italian Bread recipe for instructions).
  6. Spray olive oil in a shallow pan.
  7. Even out the dough without pressing down.
  8. Let it raise for 1-2 hours.
  9. Poke holes evenly with fingers and spread rosemary, kosher salt (or tomato/toppings) and olive oil.
  10. Preheat oven to 450 degree and bake for 10 minutes.
  11. Lower to 400 degree and bake for another 15 minutes.
